JEFF CREIGHTON
Hometown: Palos Verdes, California
Background: Got up one morning at 10 AM fat and happy and walked out the front door of our Leucadia rental and saw a bunch of fit, skinny people running by. Went back into my house and told my wife I needed to get in shape. Bought a two-person running stroller and began my life of running with two kids screaming “Faster daddy Faster!” Entered my first race, the La Jolla half, and got my rear end whipped. I was hooked.
PRs:
Mile: No idea
10K: 35:30*(2012)
Half Marathon: 1:17:55* (2012)
Marathon: 2:47* (2012)
*In the spirit of Robert, I hit my peak at the age of 50
The Fun Questions:
Favorite Race: Catalina Marathon
Favorite Workout: Taper week
Words to Live By: "In running, you are who you are" (Me)
Why I Choose to Run for PRT: I was asked…and that was a real honor. I also love being a part of a team where people call you by your last name. It’s been 30 years since I’ve had that pleasure.
What I Like to Do Besides Running: Rest, work, garden, goof around with my wife and three grown kids. I currently run a very small internet start-up in Encinitas. If you ever see an old guy running with a Dalmatian early in the morning in Olivenhain, honk…or join me. I’m always looking for company.
