KEVIN SORRELL
**Men’s Open Team Captain
Hometown: Lebanon, CT
Background: I started running in high school, being especially drawn in by the running community. In college I ran cross country for the Coast Guard Academy, and shifted to the half & full marathons a few years later.
In 2015 I relocated to San Diego to start a new career; with the support of PRT I’ve set many PR’s and made a few friends and memories along the way.
Racing competitively since: Besides running in high school and college, I’ve been racing post-collegiately since 2009.
PRs:
10K: 34:20 (Scripps Ranch Old Pros 10K, 2016)
10 Mile: 57:43 (Newport 10-miler, 2013)
Half- Marathon: 1:13:53 (Holiday Half, 2016)
Marathon: 2:38:01 (California International Marathon, 2018)
The Fun Questions:
Favorite Race: California International Marathon… who doesn’t like the course they PR on! The Coronado Bay Bridge 4-miler is also an iconic must-do run!
Favorite Workout: Modified Michigan
Words to Live By: “Don’t sweat the petty stuff, and don’t pet the sweaty stuff, and may you have the wisdom to know the difference!”
Why I choose to run for PRT: You can’t beat the support and team camaraderie!
Favorite PRT memory: Big Bear Team camp (how many people can we fit in this hot tub, Talent Show, etc.)
What I Like to Do Besides Running: Picked up surfing and love it! I also enjoy any outdoor activity to include: camping, hiking, paddle boarding, biking, etc.!
