NOELLE VAN RYSSELBERGHE
Hometown: Portland, OR
Background: I got addicted to running as a freshman at Jesuit High School and went on to run for Columbia University from 2009-2013. After a year in Portland rediscovering the trails, I relocated to San Diego to attend medical school.
Racing Competitively Since: 2004
PRs:
3000 m: 9:45 (NYRR Saturday Night at the Armory III (track), 2011)
5000 m: 16:40 (Princeton Larry Ellis Friday Night Races (track), 2011)
5K: 17:08 (Vista Strawberry 5K, 2015)
10000 m: 34:44 (NCAA Divison I East Regional Championships (track), 2011)
The Fun Questions:
Favorite Workout: Hill repeats in the middle of a super long trail run
Words to Live By: Work hard, play harder.
Why I Choose to Run for PRT: For my teammates! This is a group of awesome people who share my love for running and outdoor recreation, push me to be better and make the miles 10x more fun.
What I Like to Do Besides Running: Put bones back together (I'm a fourth year medical student training to become an orthopedic surgeon). When not running, studying, or in the hospital, you can find me backpacking, skiing, rock climbing, paddle boarding, surfing, swimming in the ocean, or chowing down after one of the aforementioned activities.
