PHOEBE MASSEY
Hometown: Lansdale, PA
Background: I started running in middle school, while also playing ice hockey. Once I realized I had a chance to go to college for running, I quit hockey and put all my energy into getting to live out that dream. I ended up running D1 at Illinois State University from 2016-2020. I took some time away from racing competitively, but found a great community in Pensacola, FL during the pandemic. Haven’t stopped racing since and love the people that have come into my life since college.
Racing Competitively Since: 2009. My dad signed me up for the local turkey trot and I ended up getting second in my age group, so I never stopped!

The Fun Questions:
Favorite race: 2022 Philadelphia marathon, because my whole family was able to be there to watch me race, and I got proposed to at the finish line!
Favorite workout: anything at marathon pace
Words to live by: “Don’t compare your chapter one with someone else’s chapter six.” —Ally Love
Why I chose to run for PRT: The supportive, positive, and fun energy that everyone brings to the team makes it easy to train hard and get closer to your goals. I wanted to keep competing in races at a high level after college and was looking for that competitive and close-knit team atmosphere. PRT was just the perfect fit!
What I like to do besides running: Reading books, hanging out with my husband, Rourke and our two dogs, going to breweries, going to the movies, and watching football, or anything Philadelphia sports related.
